On Friday, 31st July 2026, Essendon Sovereign Chapter No. 86 hosted a memorable evening that celebrated not only the continued growth of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (Scottish Constitution), but also the enduring values of family, friendship and fraternity that define our Order.

The highlight of the evening was the Perfection Ceremony of Ex. & Perf. Comp. Jagroop Singh, who was welcomed into the Scottish Rite as a Prince Rose Croix (18°). Jagroop’s admission marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his Masonic journey and was made all the more meaningful by the strong support of his family and Brethren.

His petition was proposed by his father, Ex. & Perf. Comp. Harwinder Singh, and seconded by his by his good friend, Ex. & Perf. Comp. Armit Singh, reflecting the close bonds of family and friendship that continue to strengthen the Scottish Rite.

The evening attracted an outstanding attendance, with Brethren travelling from a number of Chapters throughout the Province of Victoria to witness the ceremony and share in this special occasion. Their presence was a testament to the unity, fellowship and support that characterise the Scottish Rite.

The Chapter was honoured by the attendance of V∴Ill∴Bro. Terry Webster 33°, Sovereign Grand Inspector General for the Province of Victoria, whose leadership and encouragement continue to foster the growth and success of the Rite throughout the Province.

The evening also provided an opportunity for Essendon Sovereign Chapter No. 86 to recognise the outstanding generosity and hospitality of Ex. & Perf. Comp. Harwinder Singh, who was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of the exceptional support he has shown to the Chapter and its members. The presentation was made by Ill. Bro. Nathan Phan 32°, Most Wise Sovereign, and Ill. Bro. Jonathan Evans 30°, Secretary, acknowledging Harwinder’s dedication and commitment to Scottish Rite fellowship.

As Jagroop embarks on his Scottish Rite journey, we are confident he will enjoy the rich traditions, lasting friendships and opportunities for personal growth that the Rite offers. We also congratulate Ex. & Perf. Comp. Harwinder Singh on his well-deserved recognition and thank everyone who attended and contributed to making the evening such a memorable occasion.

Events such as these demonstrate that the Scottish Rite is far more than its ceremonies—it is a fraternity built upon friendship, family, service and mutual support. We wish Ex. & Perf. Comp. Jagroop Singh every success in the years ahead and look forward to his continued participation in the Province of Victoria.
