New Deputy for the Province of Queensland (Metropolitan)

On 28 March 2026, Brethren gathered in Brisbane to mark the induction of V∴ Ill∴ Bro. Paul Holland 33° as Deputy for the Province of Queensland (Metropolitan).

The occasion recognised V∴ Ill∴ Bro. Paul Holland 33° as he formally assumed the office of Deputy, succeeding V∴ Ill∴ Bro. Cliff Isted 33°, whose dedicated leadership and service to the Province were acknowledged throughout the event.

The induction was a significant milestone for the Province, bringing together Brethren from across Queensland to celebrate both the continuity of leadership and the ongoing strength of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.

We extend our sincere congratulations to V∴ Ill∴ Bro. Paul Holland 33° on his induction as Deputy and wish him every success as he leads the Province of Queensland (Metropolitan) into the future

Queensland Chapters Continue to Thrive with Strong Membership Growth

Queensland Sovereign Chapter No. 9 continues to enjoy a period of sustained growth, with another successful Perfection Ceremony held on Monday, 29 June 2026.

The ceremony was conducted by Euoggera Sovereign Chapter No. 153 on behalf of its sister Chapter, Queensland Sovereign Chapter No. 9, demonstrating the strong spirit of cooperation and fraternity that exists between the two Chapters.

The evening welcomed Ex. & Perf. Comp. Nathan Cammerman, a member of Silver Cross Lodge No. 17, into the Order. His Perfection adds to an impressive period of growth, with Queensland Sovereign Chapter No. 9 having perfected seven candidates over the past year, while Euoggera Sovereign Chapter No. 153 has welcomed a further three.

Deputy for the Province of South Queensland Metropolitan, V∴ Ill∴ Bro. Paul Holland 33°, commented that the focus remains firmly on fostering quality candidates while continuing to build enthusiasm, fellowship and enjoyment throughout the Order.

The evening also included the live conferral of the 31° upon Ill. Bro. Wayne Warry, Master of Ceremonies for Queensland Sovereign Chapter No. 9, providing members with the opportunity to witness a memorable and meaningful ceremony.

A Pivotal Day in Scottish Rite Masonry: Transitions and…

A big day for Scottish Rite Masonry in the Rose City of Warwick. Despite a number of last minute changes due to absences, Leslie Sovereign Chapter welcomed Ex. & Perf. Comp. Kelvin Hutchinson to their ranks. Kelvin had the privilege to be perfected in the presence of six current and former Deputies of Supreme Council for Scotland plus the Administrator for the Province of South Queensland Darling Downs, V. Ill. Bro. Noel Mapes 33°, and despite the last minute changes, received an excellent ceremony.

Following the closing of the Leslie meeting, a special Provincial Meeting was convened for the purpose of inducting V. Ill. Bro. Noel Richard Mapes 33° as Deputy for the Province of South Queensland Darling Downs. The induction was conducted by V. Ill. Bro. Percy Vesta Cutmore 33° Past Deputy for the Province of South Queensland Darling Downs, assisted by V. Ill. Bro. Edward Ruska 33° Deputy for the Province of South Queensland North Coast and Central and members of the 31st and 32nd Degrees of the Rite in South Queensland Darling Downs.

It was also the end of an era in South Queensland Darling Downs, with V. Ill. Bro. Ron Bryant 33° standing down as Provincial Grand Secretary after a combined tenure of 24 years, a period broken only by his time as the Deputy for the Province. We are looking forward to the next chapter in our history which will start with our next Rose Croix meeting in November with another new member to be perfected.

Province of Carpentaria – Sovereign Council Installation

On Thursday, September 15^th, Ill.Bro. Terry Webster 31° was fortunate to be able to attend the Carpentaria Sovereign Council No. 17 at the Freshwater Masonic Centre, just outside Cairns QLD. The Deputy for the Province of Carpentaria, V∴Ill∴Bro. Joseph Lynd 33° graciously offered to pick him up from his Hotel and return him there once the evening was ended.

Ill.Bro. Richard Fapani was Installed as Grand Commander; his Officers were invested and the meeting then closed. They adjourned to the refectory for a typical tropical North Queensland supper, toasts, and fun. The members of the Council were all extremely welcoming, and a great evening was had by all.

Induction of Clifton Trevor Isted 32’ , immediately followed by The Installation and Investiture of Clifton Trevor Isted 33’ as Deputy for Province of South Qld – Metropolitan District, which was held at the Stones Corner Masonic Centre in Wooloongabba on 8th May 2021.
